Saint Patrick!
A celebrated Believer?
Despite the feast day of the 17th March for Ireland and Nigeria, Patrick is never really forgotten until the following year, his faith was strong and he is mentioned throughout time for his miracles and his grace as a believing Christian along with his influence around the world!
Patrick had a tough life, being kidnapped as a young man and enslaved, he escaped only years later to return to Ireland, because the people wanted him and he fulfilled those prayers?
The Gospel message that he preached has not changed and it has even more value today in an ever darkening world and society that is depraved and holds no moral ground, encouraging things only to get worse!
Amos 5:4, Mark 15:32, John 3:3, 14-21, Romans 3:22-23, 6:22-23, Hebrews 12:2, Revelation 3:20.

Jonah and the Worm?
Discontent!
The unhappy prophet, who ran away from his responsibilities and came back from the mouth of the whale to see thousands saved by his preaching in the city of Nineveh and yet he was upset because of what they had done and could not get over it?
God gave him comfort in his pain by the relief of the tree, but with no change He took it from him to show His power at work in the world with humanity!
There is much that we can learn from this account, that when God asks us to do something we should obey and not get caught up in ourselves and all the woes and anger of our hearts!
Jonah 4:7, Matthew 6:12, Mark 6:19, John 20:23.

Salvation & Inheritance?
The need to hear and Apply!
Many people today believe that they are saved and that they then can keep doing wrong, as long as they repent of it, sadly this sounds like the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church?
The truth is much harder to accept, in that if we fail to stop choosing to do wrong we may loose our salvation or not receive the inheritance that promised too us!
God wants us to love others, as He loves us and that we are compassionate and not selfish as we once were!
Isaiah 6:10, Matthew 13:15, Acts 28:27, Hebrews 5:11, Revelation 2:7,11, 21:7.

Happy New Year 2024.
Once more starting with the same old Sins!
War, strife, natural disasters, terrorism and Economics, these are but a few of the things that the world keeps pumping out and as believers were ever we are we have to pass through them, unless God takes us home?
We cannot avoid loss, grief, pain, illness, accidents and despite our condition we as believers have to keep trusting Jesus, old age is great in that is has a life time of experience to share with those younger than us!
We should take the opportunity as the wise men and woman of old did and warn others of wrong actions, of being unwise or wreckless?
Numbers 11:25, Joshua 9:11, 1 Chronicles 11:3, Proverbs 31:23, 1 Timothy 5:17, 1 Peter 5:1, 5.

Under the fig Tree?
A warning of Conditions!
Jesus went to the fig tree to find fruit to meet His hunger, but he found only leaves and cursed and it died!
There are many illustrations that we can get from this account, one being that as believers, if we fail to produce fruit we could loose our Salvation since we are all commanded to give our testimony when the opportunity arises?
On the other hand we need faith in our lives to travel, to stay put, to be different from the world who risk or become stubborn and live by their sight and not that of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 21:18-22, John 14:12, Acts 10:20, Romans 4:20, 14:23, James 1:6.
Happy and a blessed New Year 2024.

Glory to God Always!
No matter what are circumstances may be?
Much of the Middle-East has cancelled Christmas, but as believers in our hearts we cannot, but we must give thanks to God for sending to us His one and only son that we might be saved through Him!
The shepherds went to investigate the birth of the Messiah and they left praising God, at the joy that they were chosen for this moment!
Yesterday hundreds of believers died in Nigeria for celebrating Christmas, the many who survived will keep giving glory to Jesus for their salvation and we must too keep going, knowing that the world outside the Ekklesia is lost in their own conceptions of ideals, politics, falseness and other?
Luke 2:16-20, 1 Corinthians 2:7, Ephesians 1:14, 1 Peter 4:11.

The Shepherds!
Out in the fields….
Probably under a tree or bush with their sheep for some protection from the elements, they were asleep and where startled by the flash and the appearance of the Angles?
Today that might be termed a UFO or some weather event, but this was the announcement to these men that the Messiah had come into the world and they had been chosen, since Jesus ancestor David had been a shepherd before he became a great King of Israel!
Luke 2:8-18, Psalm 148:1-2, Isaiah 9:6, Revelation 5:11.
-
The Magi!
They saw the star of Jacob.
The prophecies of the Prophet Daniel had now come true in Elam-Persia and the wise men set out on their mission from the three great nations of the Earth to follow that star to Jerusalem, where they knew that the King of Kings was to be born into our World.
Tradition places them at the end of the Christmas story, but they had traveled over a two year period to reach our Lord and they by tradition may have come from Ethiopia, China and India to present these precious gifts to the King child?
Numbers 24:17, Matthew 2:1-10, Revelation 22:16.

Registration!
From Roman times until Now?
Before the Romans colonized the Middle-East and the Holy lands, Israel registered only themselves and no one outside their ethnic community, But when Roman arrived the first serious census of the people in the region was undertaken and this has remained a part of western society to this day.
Governments want everyone in their respective nations to have a static place of residence and are not in favor of people moving from place to place, but the world still has many nomadic peoples and so they use A to B/Z to register them!
Ezekiel 13:9, Luke 2:1-2.

From the Bedouin to Smuggers?
There has and always be big bucks in the smuggling and trafficking business for people who chance their luck in believing they can undermine the laws of all lands?
In this new situation developing, the Bedouin might be accused of being one of the causes, since they move about but in recent years this has changed for them!
Hebrews 9:26, 10:10, 3 John 1:1-3, Revelation 3:20.
